The renaissance of an historical luxurious and glamorous era.
In Vidago, a region of Northern Portugal recognized by the therapeutic effects and curative properties of its waters, the Vidago Palace hotel is reborn, inserted in a green and charming park with marvellous cedars and pine trees, and relaxing fragrances of lavender and rosemary.
Conceived originally to be the opulent holiday residence of King D. Carlos in the beginning of the 20th century, this palace ended up transformed into one of the preferred destinations of Portuguese and European aristocracy, having even been considered the most luxurious hotel of the Iberian Peninsula.
Now, 100 years after its opening, this impressive building recovers its initial splendour, after the introduction of modern luxuries and extensive restoration work by prize-winning designers José Pedro Lopes Vieira and Diego Rose Lã.
The new SPA, created by the famous architect Siza Vieira, is a contemporary and elegant space offering a team of professional therapists, exclusive treatments using the beneficial mineral waters and a lounge for relaxation with a creative selection of healthy cuisine.
Inaugurated in 1936, with a layout conceived by the Scottish specialist Philip Mackenzie Ross and renewed in 2010 by Cameron Powell, the fantastic golf course is a seductive challenge to tackle, in the charming setting of the Vidago Palace.
