Air France (AF) becomes the first European company to fly to Canton. The connection is already being made five times per week but it will be increased to seven flights per week starting the 14th of June. The equipment to be used is the A-340-300.
With this route, AF is flying to four destinations in China (besides Hong Kong, Xangai since 1966, Beijing since 1973 and Canton since 2004). Between 1998 and 2002, AF has increased its capacity to China in 83%, having multiplied the number of flights by four, since 1993.
The Canton route is reinforced by the flight share agreement with China Southern Airlines, which intends to begin four weekly flights between Paris and Canton this year. |
