On the 16th of May the 196th anniversary of the La Albuera Battle is commemorated in La Albuera, 45km from Zafra and 23km from Badajoz in Spain.

The battle was in 1811, during the War of Independence, and the celebration of its anniversary during the 15th, 16th and 17th of May is considered the Regional Holiday in La Albuera.

During three days, the activities in La Albuera are innumerous, such as the regiments parade dressed with period uniforms, the degustation of the typical La Albuera dish, the equestrian show and to finish off, the historical recreation of the La Albuera Battle, close to the Old Bridge.
