Five Portuguese wine cellars are amongst the world’s 100 best, according to the north American magazine Wine and Spirits. Aveleda, Nieport, Quinta do Portal, Quinta do Noval and Fonseca were distinguished as “Wineries of the Year”.

The attribution of the awards includes worldwide wine tasting events where over nine thousand brands present in the market are analyzed. The selection is made through blind tastings and only one hundred cellars will be on the final list, and will be published in the Guia de Vinhos (Wine Guide) magazine.
