Exhibition at York House York House, a ARTEH Hotel, situated in Lisbon at Janelas Verdes, will be the home, from the 5th March, of a painting and sculpture exhibition under the theme - Paredes Meias - (Neighbours), by Velhô. According to the acclaimed artist and author of the exhibition “when I was proposed an exhibition in the York House space, I agreed almost immediately and there were several reasons for this. The space, the location, the historical integration, my living as a neighbour of York House”.
The exhibition, which will take place during one month, will be available in the three rooms of York House, allowing a show of 27 paintings, 5 sculptures, 3 ceramic pieces and 1 painting of which 100 multiples will be made, in serigraph. The motives are organised around pieces that the author selected from the last 9 years’ work.
The presence of Eça de Queirós is due to his relationship with the space; motives collected from the Ancient Art Museum, “neighbour” of York House, and the almost compulsory visits by the artist to this museum while he was learning his craft.
The space where the exhibition is going to be inserted is a marvellous recovery of part of the cloisters of Convento dos Marianos, being a noble zone of York House, reserved for special events.
