Lisbon was elected Best European Destination 2010 by the European Consumers Association.
 
It's the first time that this independent entity, with headquarters in Brussels, distinguishes a city with this title, highlighting the Portuguese capital in a list of ten important European cities.
 
In a press release, the European Consumers Association explains that Lisbon was chosen because it reflects "a city that has known how to preserve its soul and offer an entrance door to Tourism, without forgetting its social and cultural richness".
