The Pico island will the be the stage, from the 6th to the 8th May, for the III Whale Biennial of Azores, a seminar which will count on some specialist of national and international level.
For three days, several themes will be analysed in connection with the observation of cetaceans, from the worldwide program to the research and investigation projects that are being conducted in the Azores.
One of the issues to be debated, which is directly connected to the nature tourism operators, is the discussion for the seasonality and alternatives to the so-called “whale watching”.
The Pico Museum, the classified zone for the Pico wine, the pedestrian trails, the jeep tours and other activities such as scuba diving, will be matters to be discussed in terms of nature tourism in this seminar promoted by the Direcção Regional de Turismo dos Açores.
