British Airways will auction, on the Internet, more than 150,000 pieces of the Concorde in association with DoveBid Inc.
This 4-day event, organized by DoveBid auctioneers, will take place between the days 14th and 17th April 2004, at Stoneleigh Park near Coventry, in England. Simultaneously, there will be an Internet session for those interested living in other countries.
The pieces to be sold in April will include the cone from the aircraft’s nose, cockpit instruments, computers from board, chairs, board cooking tools, engines and its components, lights, sensors, china and cutlery.
The initiative for a new auction came up as a sequence to vast number of letters and telephone calls that BA received, asking if it would be possible to sell additional pieces of the supersonic aircraft.
The technology, which will be used by DoveBid, will also allow those interested foreigners, who will not be able to participate in the last London auction, to equally present their bids.
To participate in this auction, the buyers may present their bids through the Internet, at www.dovebid.com, or personally associate themselves to the event. For a preview of the goods, locations and dates, visit www.dovebid.com.
