The Douro is the setting chosen by the English car manufacturer Land Rover to present the new Range Rover model. This initiative will last until the 16th of July 2010 and will bring over 250 journalists from all over the world to the region to try out the new vehicle.

The Douro Valley is the world’s oldest wine producing region protected by the appellation system (since 1756), it's World Heritage of UNESCO since 2001, in 2008 was distinguished by the World Tourism Organization (WTO) as Tourist Destination of Excellence and is the 16th best world destination for sustainable tourism and the 7th best of Europe, according to the National Geographic Society.
