A panoramic balloon is the most recent tourist attraction in Madeira. With 32 meters height, 22 diameter and capacity for 32 people, this helium balloon is the biggest in the world. Through an electro-hydraulic system, land supported by a cable, this new tourist product reaches a maximum height of 150 meters from which one can appreciate an unforgettable panoramic view over Funchal. The flight takes around 15 minutes.

One of the great advantages of this panoramic balloon resides in its ecological and non polluting character. The new product, which represented an investment of about 1,6 millions of euros is granted to “Ballon Vision Lda” for 10 years. The support platform situated in the Avenida do Mar, in the middle of the beach, near the Beatles Boat and the Funchal Marina, has an area of 1600 square meters supported by 16 cement pillars, each three meters high. The project is by architects from Madeira.

Those who visit this space, besides an unforgettable experience, may also get to know a little of the Balloon’s history, at the museum centre and enjoy the commerce and food areas. The panoramic balloon created 30 new jobs and turned out to be the most desired tourist product of Madeira.
