The Algarve was reelected as "Europe's Best Golf Region 2011", by the German magazine Golf Magazine.

Elected for the fourth consecutive year, the announcement was made by the Algarve Tourism Association.

"At a gala full of famous sports personalities from Germany, the award was handed over to the communication agency by the Algarve Tourism Association in the German market - Pura Communications - represented by its Director".

This year the destination was competing with the Andalusia region (Spain) and with the city of Belek (Turkey), which hosts the 14th edition of the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) this year, organized by Reed Travel Exhibitions, from the 14th until the 17th of November 2011.
