The International Cinema Festival - DFH, takes place in the Douro region and starts on the 26th of September of 2012. It counts on Bo Derek as the main guest, with Eduardo Sama, Rui Reininho and Luísa Sequeira as curators and Diana Chaves and Marcantonio Del Carlo as hosts.

The DFH presents some of the best film choices, but it is more than a cinema sample. Within the Douro and Oporto sceneries, both World Heritage sites, it presents itself as a cultural and wine-related touristic platform which contributes to the promotion and development of a region with unique characteristics and enormous potential.

Organized by the Expanding World, the DFH created a unique niche in the international cinema panorama, creating an alliance between gastronomy, regional wines and various other cultural expressions.
The festival takes place between the 26th and the 29th of September of 2012, in various places such as the Adega Cooperativa de Favaios, Casa da Música, Hard Club, Museu do Douro, Núcleo Museológico Favaios, Doc Restaurant, Quarentae4 Restaurant, Municipal Theater Rivoli and Soundwich.

The main guest, Bo Derek, is a cinema icon who needs no introduction, having been nominated for the Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress, including her career with various box office hits such as “A Change of Seasons”, “Tommy Boy” or “Malibu Most Wanted”. This edition of the Douro Film Harvest 2012 will be marked by an increased bet on the wine and gastronomy themes, which resulted in the opening of two new competition sections, the “Wine Films” and the “Food Films”.

The festival's closing ceremony will take place on the 29th of September 2012, at the Museu do Douro.
