In November the European music industry’s most coveted awards ceremony, the MTV Europe Music Awards will be held in Lisbon.

Lisbon’s bid to host the awards ceremony won out over those from Paris and Copenhagen.

The decision to host this huge event in Lisbon is closely tied into the fact that little over a year ago a national version of the World’s most famous music channel premiered in Portugal. The Pavilhão Atlântico was selected as the venue for the 2005 edition of this gala because it offered all the necessary conditions to hosting such an event.
 
Several emblematic spots in the Portuguese Capital will also be included in the events’ programme.
