Yesterday, in Council of Ministers, the concession of the contract granting the Portuguese State the right to produce the 2007 World Sailing Championship, to be held in Cascais, was published.
The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) had already announced, in August, that it had chosen Portugal to host this sporting event.
According to the Portuguese State’s predictions, issued in a press release, this event will benefit Portugal’s projection as a tourist destination since, during the Championship, the country will be visited by over 1.500 yachtsmen, 1.000 sailing vessels, all divided into 11 sporting categories and from 70 countries. |
