Finnair innaugurated its Helsinki/ Ponta Delgada route with a weekly flight scheduled until the end of 2005.

The aircraft for this route is a Boeing 757-200 with a 228 seat capacity.

Finnair operates three weekly flights to Funchal, and during high season it is frequent to schedule five flights a week.

Sata Internacional is also preparing to launch its Ponta Delgada/London route with its first flight planned for the 5th of April.

Besides its direct links to Lisbon and Porto, Ponta Delgada will now have direct links to Zurich, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Munich, Helsinki, and London.
