From the 28th of October to the 1st of November, Paris Expo held the 12th edition of the Chocolate Fair at Port de Versailles, pavilion 5.
The French have longed pioneered the art of chocolate making and currently are responsible for some of the best chocolates in Europe. The “Salon du Chocolat”, held yearly in Paris, New York and Japan is the best international event to discover the history, the making, the origin, new flavors, different combinations, original shapes and a lot more about chocolates from all over the world.
With an exhibition area of 14,000 square meters, pavilion 5 of Porte de Versailles presented over 100 “chocolatiers” from all over the world, offering samples and demonstrating the making of the best chocolates from their country. The delights hade the 4 season’s signature, where 12 different flavors and themes were created, representing each month of the year.
January – “Snow Spirit”; February – “For an Elegant Rendezvous”; March – Spring Strokes”; April – “In April Tons of Water”; May – “Flower Celebration”; June – Garden Spirit”; July – Liberty Thoughts”; August – “Close to Holidays”; September – “On the student’s route”; - October – Vineyard Season”; November – “The First Thunders”; December – Christmas Balls”.
Over time, the “Salon du Chocolat” has gained international recognition, having organized 12 editions in Paris, 9 in New York and 5 in Japan. Dates are already set for Madrid – Salon des Gourmets – from the 16th to the 19th of April 2007, and still to confirm, the first edition in Dubai.
The fair organizes events and entertainment for all kinds of tastes and ages, from chocolate dressed models on the catwalk, to chocolate face painting for children, award ceremonies – “Les Awards du Chocolate 2006”, Miss Coco 2006 contest and other surprises related to chocolate.
Paris’s magic has charmed us for centuries… from the first paintings in the Louvre during the 17th Century, “Le Grand Siécle” – The Grand Century - to the sumptuousness of Louis the 14th – “The Sun King”.
