The Florence Marathon takes place in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and the route of the event takes the runners right through the heart of it. 

With a successful race in 2005 of over 6000 participants from 54 nations, this year’s edition is sure to be an even greater success.  The race begins atop picturesque Piazzale Michelangelo, and takes the marathoners through 26.2 miles of the most scenic and breathtaking athletic event they will ever take part in, as well as one of the most challenging. 

Not only is the Florence marathon the most important athletic event in Tuscany, it is one of the most important in all of Italy.  Anyone interested in running can visit the Firenze Marathon website for more information on how to register, enrollment is possible until November 25th.
