From the 10th to the 13th of January 2007, the 71st edition of Pitti Uomo at Fortezza da Basso in Florence, presents a World preview of clothing and accessories collections for the 2007/2008 fall-winter season.
Conscious and elegance are the key words of this year’s Pitti Uomo. “This edition is dedicated to the spirit of a redefined elegance that gives today’s man a new awareness of fashion and of the pleasure of “dressing up.” The special events express this new identity in its several declinations. From the most famous names in fine tailoring on Savile Row, to the avant-garde elegance of Kris Van Assche, who will present his collection at ‘Le Pagliere’ on January the 11th. About Kris Van Assche Kris Van Assche was born in Londerzeel, Belgium in 1976. A graduate from the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts , he worked as a design assistant at Yves Saint Laurent Homme and Dior Homme, before launching a men’s collections in his own name in January 2005. His collections are presented during the men’s ready-to-wear collections in Paris. Passionate about a vision of a man who takes the time to "dress up," Kris Van Assche pursues a masculinity infused with poetry and authenticity. Balancing a nostalgic historical sense with radical modernism, he has created a distinctive, refined style of nonchalant elegance. Van Assche’s work is characterized by attention to detail and his designs arise from a sophisticated approach that breaks away from the standardness of sportswear.
