The Mewar Festival will be held in the magnificent city of Udaipur, part of the region of Rajasthan, India, between the 21st and the 23rd of March 2007. Every year the city of Udaipur celebrates the event in homage to the coming of spring.

All the women come together and dress up in images of Isar and Gangur and transport them during a procession ceremony through different areas around the city. The procession ends at Lake Pichhola in Gangur Ghat, where, after being transferred into boats specially prepared to receive then, they sail down the river to the sound of chants and celebrations.
  
After the religious ceremony, it is time to prolong with the celebrations and events where Rajasthan’s culture is celebrated through music, dances and other activities around town. The festival ends by the river bank with a splendid firework show that lights up the river.
