Bathukamma - 7 / 15 October 2013
Bathukamma is widely celebrated in Hyderabad and the surrounding region. Elaborate conical floral arrangements topped by a pumpkin flower are worshipped as the Goddess Bathukamma. Unmarried young women pray to the goddess to bring them prosperity and a good husband.

Festival of the Sea – August to September 2013
Each year the Fishermen's Association in Cascais organizes the Festival of the Sea (Festas do mar), with plenty of marine-themed processions, music and weird and wonderful events taking place near Cascais' waterfront. The nights end with fireworks displays.

Festas de Lisboa - June 2013
During the Festas de Lisboa, the Portuguese capital is draped in colorful paper streamers. The party peak is on the eve of St Anthony's Day with the grand Avenida da Liberdade parade and parties in the Alfama district.
Throughout June, Lisbon is dominated by saint’s days, which gives the festival its other name, Santos Populares. The people celebrate with a program of cultural events, street parties and prayers.
Village Festival - 4 / 12 June 2013
The Festival showcases music, arts and film for the digital generation. The three main areas are the VIDCF film competition, which awards prizes in various categories and showcases films from Poland and Japan, among other special screenings, Village Art, which features contemporary digital art exhibits, and Village Lounge, which is where the DJs and VJs entertain directors, actors, press and visitors.

Musidanças Festival - November 2013
Travel 20km south of Lisbon for the Musidanças Festival in Seixal's Tambor Q Fala, which presents foot-tapping music from Lusophone (Portuguese-speaking) countries. There's also dance, some interesting food and traditional crafts and paintings to take home.
Super Bock - December 2013
Returns for its annual two-day festival of new musical names and sounds. Expect performances by Portuguese and international musicians at Avenida da Liberdade venues including São Jorge Cinema, Tivoli Theatre and Hotel Tivoli.

25 April Commemorations - April 2013
Faro commemorates the peaceful Carnation Revolution, which liberated Portugal from a 40-year dictatorship on 25 April 1974. The month-long events peak when locals sing the moving Grândola Vila Morena by left-wing folk singer Zeco Afonso and the countersign for the revolution.
