The "European Caribbean”, was used by the Italian daily paper “La Stampa” to characterize the Porto Santo island, in Madeira.
The island was highlighted due to its fine golden sandy beach, having had won the award "7 Portuguese Wonders" in the "Dune Beaches" category.
"Among various comments cited in this article, we underline the diversity of nautical sports, must see spots, such as the Casa Museu Cristóvăo Colombo, tourist attractions, as well as the geographic proximity of this island, located a few hours away from the main European capitals", says the Madeira Tourism.
